Bogota, February, 2017

Alicia Lloreda and Tatiana Carrillo are the two Colombians from the firm Lloreda Camacho & Co. that are on the list of the 24 best Intellectual Property lawyers in Latin America, according to the magazine World Trademark Review 2017.

“We are impressed by these excellent results and strong leadership shown in the area of national trademarks. International clients are now requiring more services to manage their regional affairs. The team is ready for the task due to its sophisticated understanding of Intellectual Property legislation in multiple jurisdictions, as well as a reliable network of high level correspondents. At the head of this team are the Intellectual Property leader, Alicia Lloreda, and the leader of the trademark and copyrights group, Tatiana Carrillo. They work together to ensure that their clients’ “crown jewels” are protected at all costs,” states the publication.

For Alicia Lloreda, head of Intellectual Property for Lloreda Camacho & Co., being on the list is a source of pride that reflects her dedication and daily effort. “This is a recognition for an entire team that has more than 75 years of experience in an area that is so important for the economic development of our country – Intellectual Property.”

Tatiana Carrillo, head of trademarks and copyrights for the Colombian firm, states that this acknowledgement “is the result of a clear understanding of the clients and of an excellent group that is constantly evolving and learning to provide the best business and trademark guidance to foreign investors who come to this country to expand their companies.”

Lloreda Camacho & Co. is in the gold category on the list of 14 Colombian law firms that World Trademark Review has chosen for their Intellectual Property work. Silver and bronze are the other two ratings.

Colombia: An Attractive Choice for Foreign Investors

Due to the economic slowdown in Colombia during the last two years caused by the drop in petroleum prices (the number one export), World Trademark Review rates Colombia as one of the best options in Latin America to conduct business. This means that the market for legal services and trademark protection (one of the most recurring issues in Intellectual Property) will continue to grow in the coming years.

“Lloreda Camacho & Co. will continue to be prepared and up to date on the market to provide the best business and trademark advice to foreign investors that want to come to Colombia to grow their businesses,” explains Lloreda.
